Sean joined the Novoferm team as a Supply Manager after working in the garage door industry for over 20 years. After receiving his City and Guilds in HGV mechanics, Sean started work at Cardale as a door builder, working up a solid knowledge of the skills and processes involved. He went from building and framing the doors to running the double door section, eventually finding himself in Luton, where he moved into the transport sector as a driver.
From here, Sean continued to move up, gaining experience in the driving and customer service side of things until he became Supply Chain Manager, which he has been doing for over seven years now.
Sean is responsible for the fleet of 15 HGV’s, which deliver our goods all over the country, as well as the warehouse staff who pick the orders. Each day involves routing the vehicles for the next day, getting the warehouse staff to pick the orders in delivery sequence, and then having the admin team despatch orders to the relevant driver’s tablet.
When asked what it is like to work at Novoferm, Sean noted that “Every day is different. Some days are a hard challenge, and some are easy, but it makes the day go quicker and is never boring”.
When speaking about his highlights from his time working with us at Novoferm, Sean pointed out a couple from the past seven years. He listed one big highlight for him as “when I saved the company group tens of thousands of pounds by changing our fuel supplier”. Sean also mentioned that he “gets to view new vehicles and, if they are suitable, hopefully I get to purchase them, which is a huge responsibility”.
Sean is a firm believer that “hard work pays off”. When asked why he thinks joining Novoferm right now is a great opportunity, Sean responded that “Novoferm as a company offers good prospects for anyone who wants to further their career in varied roles”.
