These doors are built to meet the requirements of the Secured by Design Police Preferred Specification. Just some of the features of this door include heavy-duty strengthening ribs – to meet industry requirements, we’ve increased the number of door braces at the rear of the door for maximum security. Our Naseby doors also come with an inside locking handle, heavy-duty springs, and secure locking brackets, among other SBD features. 

All these doors come fitted with 70mm wide factory-fitted steel frames as standard. These doors come in a pre-hung factory-finished steel fixing frame.

Our Novoguard Berwick doors are built to satisfy the rigorous requirements of the Police’s Secured by Design security initiative. Heavy-duty springs ensure smooth operation for these doors which have been greatly reinforced with the addition of heavy-duty door braces at the rear of the door, the number of which has been boosted. With 3-point secure locking barrels fully supported across the width of the door, these doors cannot be easily bypassed. Further protection is provided by an inside locking handle. The locking barrel is reinforced and includes a key for locking and unlocking from inside. 

All these doors come fitted with 70mm wide factory-fitted steel frames as standard. These doors are supplied in a pre-hung factory-finished steel fixing frame. This simplifies installation and eliminates the need for timber components that would otherwise warp or rot, compromising the security of the door. 

As with our other Novoguard options, our Novoguard Thornby doors come loaded with features, earning a Secured by Design accreditation that’s 100% backed by the UK Police Service. Just some of the features include secure locking brackets, heavy-duty springs, and heavy-duty strengthening ribs. The springs ensure smooth motion even for these heavily reinforced doors, so they are super-easy to open and close.

All our Novoguard Secured by Design (SBD) doors along with the 564 Novoguard System Package are certified as meeting CS 5051 STS202 standards, approved by the ACPO Association of Chief Police Officers. SBD an official security initiative operated by the UK Police Service with the intention of lowering crime while protecting people and businesses. SBD focuses on the improvement of products that include doors, windows, locks, and walling systems. Products that receive the ‘Secured by Design’ accreditation are certified as providing the highest levels of security. 

By working closely with companies, such as Novoferm, variations in the quality of the product being sold versus what was originally tested can be tackled. Police crime prevention standards are implemented from initial concept and design through to fabrication and completion. And the awareness of the importance of security standards throughout the construction industry has only increased. Today, only products, such as doors, that have been UKAS certified can be considered for SBD’s Police Preferred Specification.

A self-monitoring automatic cut-off safeguard is in place to stop and open the garage door if any resistance is encountered.

These systems are based on the safe principle, and so you can be sure that they’ll comply with all safety requirements. In addition, these doors feature tamper-proof remote controls which are fully protected by AES 128-bit encryption and rolling codes.
